Enter new markets

Case: The company iNordvativ A / S was ready with a toy that they wanted to launch into new markets, but they lacked the contacts and the market knowledge needed. Therefore, the company contacted the Trade Council which then drafted market reports and facilitated contact to local partners.

iNordvativ A / S is a small company from North Jutland with several business areas. The company’s newest product is DollsWalls, which is a flexible and challenging construction toy where the child builds houses and buildings for dolls and other toys. The product was intended to be introduced in the first markets in 2012 and 2013, and the company wanted to focus on markets in Denmark, Germany and the Benelux countries.

The company lacked the right contacts in those countries, though. The plan was that these contacts should be established during the world's biggest toy fair Spielwarenmesse in Nuremberg in January 2013.

With an upcoming product launch but no internal sales and marketing department, iNordvativ needed a credible partner to ensure optimal knowledge of target markets and maximum benefit of the company’s participation in Spielwarenmesse. Therefore, iNordvativ contacted the Trade Council.

First, The Trade Council drafted market reports describing the markets in the Netherlands and Belgium thoroughly. Based on these reports, iNordvativ concluded that the markets remained interesting for them, and it was therefore decided to invite a number of Dutch and Belgian retail chains and distributors to visit iNordvativs stand at  Spielwarenmesse in Nuremberg.

The Trade Council's advisers at the embassies in the Netherlands and Belgium produced market reports and provided personal contacts to local chains and distributors making sure that issued invitations from iNordvativ were met with interest.

The Trade Council also headed the revision and translation of materials and relevant sections of the DollsWalls' website so that potential partners and customers could see that there was a well-prepared and ready business behind the website.
