On 16 November 2023, Denmark’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Lars Løkke Rasmussen, announced the opening of new embassies, including in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This happens, as the Danish government has proposed to strengthen the Foreign Service in the coming Financial Act for 2024. The new embassies will open throughout the year of 2024.
Until the opening of the Royal Danish Embassy in Sarajevo and the official handover of agreements, the Royal Danish Embassy in Belgrade will continue to carry out its duties to Bosnia and Herzegovina. For more details, please find the official press release here.
